ScoliBrace is a custom-designed orthotic device used to treat scoliosis. It is a 3D-brace that aims to correct spinal curvature by applying corrective forces to the spine, helping to reduce the curve and improve posture.
ScoliBrace works by using 3D imaging technology to create a custom fit for each patient. The brace applies specific forces to the spine, aiming to correct the curvature over time. It is designed to be worn under clothing and can be adjusted as the patient grows or as their condition changes.
ScoliBrace is suitable for children, adolescents, and adults with scoliosis. It is particularly beneficial for patients with idiopathic scoliosis but can also be used for other types of scoliosis, including neuromuscular and degenerative scoliosis.
The recommended wear time for ScoliBrace varies depending on the severity of the scoliosis and the treatment plan prescribed by the healthcare provider. Typically, it is advised to wear the brace for 20 to 23 hours a day for the best results.
ScoliBrace is designed with patient comfort in mind. The custom fit and lightweight materials help ensure that it can be worn comfortably under clothing. However, some initial discomfort may occur as the patient adjusts to wearing the brace.
The duration of treatment with ScoliBrace varies depending on individual cases. Some patients may need to wear the brace for several years, while others may only need it for a shorter period. Regular follow-ups with the healthcare provider will help determine the appropriate length of treatment.
Yes, patients can participate in most physical activities while wearing ScoliBrace. However, it may be recommended to remove the brace during certain activities or sports. Always consult with your healthcare provider for specific guidelines.
ScoliBrace uses advanced 3D imaging technology to create a more precise and effective fit compared to traditional braces. Its design aims to provide better corrective forces and improve patient compliance and comfort.
ScoliBrace is designed to reduce the curvature of the spine and improve posture. While it may not completely cure scoliosis, it can significantly slow down or stop the progression of the curve and improve overall quality of life.
ScoliBrace can be cleaned with a mild soap and water solution. It is important to follow the specific cleaning instructions provided by the manufacturer to ensure the longevity and effectiveness of the brace.
Yes, ScoliBrace can be used in conjunction with other treatments such as physical therapy, exercises, and chiropractic care. It is important to follow a comprehensive treatment plan as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
To get fitted for a ScoliBrace, you will need to schedule an appointment with a certified ScoliBrace provider. They will use 3D imaging technology to take precise measurements and create a custom brace tailored to your specific needs.
Insurance coverage for ScoliBrace varies depending on the provider and the patient's insurance plan. It is recommended to check with your insurance company and the ScoliBrace provider to understand the coverage options available.
If you experience discomfort or pain while wearing ScoliBrace, contact your healthcare provider immediately. They can make necessary adjustments to ensure the brace fits correctly and comfortably.
